Prayer is the simple act of having a conversation with God. It’s about talking with the Creator of the Universe: whether aloud or in our thoughts, during special or ordinary moments, when we’re on the move or before we go to bed. It’s the privilege we get as His children—a direct connection to God. No voicemail messages, no call waiting.
Some may see prayer as a one-way conversation, or even worse, a conversation with ourselves, but studies have shown that not only does it improve our quality of life (1), it actually has the power to heal. Scientists say interactions with God through prayer give us the ability to better manage our negative emotions (2) and reduce our aggression towards others (3).
According to researchers Marek Jantos and Hosen Kiat (4), “[Prayer] should be recognized as an important resource for coping with pain and illness and improving health and general well-being.” The Bible even promises that when we pray, we will experience “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7).”
But The Holy Seed Church don’t just pray for the sake of our health and well-being. As Christian Prayer of the book Mathw 6, “Our Father who in heaven, Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend.”
It is what fuels and develops our relationship with Him, and when we take time to speak directly with God, we discover that He takes the time to reply and transform us with His love.
The prayer of last resort
Not long ago, I rode my motorcycle to a luncheon meeting. Upon arriving, I went to the restroom to change out of my motorcycle clothes and into my meeting clothes. After the meeting,
O my God, I offer you above all my thoughts, words, actions, and sufferings; and I beseech you to give me Your grace that I may not offend you this day but may I faithfully serve you and do your holy will in all things. I desire to gain all the indulgences that I can... |

If you saw him on the train, he might be the type you’d avoid. Shaved head, tattooed knuckles, intense gaze. The seat next to him empty. But if you took that chance, if you sat in that empty seat, you would hear an amazing story a challenging, gritty, redemptive story from a man unashamedly in love with his Savior.
You’d be surprised to hear how he helps little old ladies and picks them up for church and how he goes around the neighborhood servicing people’s cars to show them that love. He sets and packs up all the equipment at his church and loves to “labor for the Lord.” And he's ready to share his story with anyone who’s willing to listen.

Beliefs 2007 EDITION The holy Seed Church accept the
Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to
be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs, as set
forth here, constitute the church’s understanding and expression
of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be
expected at a General Conference Session when the church is led by
the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds
better language in which to express the teachings of God’s Holy
Word.
