FACILITATORS TIPS
Your goal is to get them discussing and talking. Avoid giving a lecture or sermon. If a question sparks discussion let them talk, don't rush them (you have two hours to cover this material). Feel free to add supplemental questions of your own but keep on topic (OYiM Made simple). Create an atmosphere where it's safe to share and even disagree. Prayerfully watching the video a few times will help you guide the discussion better. Ask them to take notes so they don't have to watch the video twice.
FLASH PRAYER:
This is random group prayer. Each person is welcome to pray or not pray. Prayers should be brief ("flash") but OYiMs can pray multiple times. A.C.T.S is a popular group prayer outline (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication) but should be focused on the OYiM initiative. It's very ok if OYiMs pray out of order, let the Spirit lead! Jesus?
TEAM MIXER:
Give each person a piece of paper. Have them fold it horizontally and Vertically. The creases should form four squares on the paper. Give them a question for each square and have them draw a picture to answer the question. For example, what do you look forward to most as an OYiM Missionary? What do you feel is your greatest talent or spiritual gift? Where do you need more training and experience? What do you love most about Jesus? |
